STG Logistics Names Former UPS Freight Chief Jack Holmes as CEO

STG Logistics named Jack Holmes Chief Executive Officer on October 5, 2026, effective immediately. STG is one of the largest US providers of port-to-door services and supply chain solutions for cargo owners and logistics providers. Holmes succeeds Geoff Anderman, who had held a leadership role since early 2017, including through the company’s financial restructuring earlier this year. Anderman remains with STG as an advisor to support the transition.

Holmes brings more than four decades in transportation and logistics. He spent 37 years at UPS, rising from part-time package handler to President and CEO of UPS Freight, which he led from 2006 until 2016. Before that role, he led the integration of Overnite Transportation, UPS’s largest domestic acquisition, into what became UPS Freight. Since then he has served as Executive Chairman of ACERTUS and Emerge and as a director of Werner Enterprises. Chairman Gary Enzor said Holmes has worked “from the loading dock to the CEO’s office.”

The appointment comes alongside a broader leadership refresh. Clinton Smith becomes interim Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Tyler Holtgreven, who will stay through November 1 to support the handover. Cherie Schaible becomes interim General Counsel, succeeding Chase Welsh. On the board, Enzor takes the chair, and John Labrie, Joe Troy, Dave Ebbrecht and Darren Hawkins join existing director Tom Donohue and Holmes. Funds managed by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company and Invesco Senior Secured Management lead the ownership group.

Holmes takes over a company on stronger financial footing. Under Anderman and Holtgreven, STG reduced its funded debt by nearly $1 billion, about 90%. Holmes has set out his immediate priorities as investing in the network, driving disciplined growth and delivering the service customers rely on.

Digital Trade Outlook’s View: From Restructuring to Growth

The outgoing team strengthened STG’s balance sheet. The owners have now turned to a seasoned operator to build on that base and grow the network. With new leadership in place across management and the board, STG enters its next phase focused on investment and growth.
