Jordan Ahli Bank Hires Suleiman Abu Khader to Lead Wholesale Banking

Suleiman Abu Khader, who ran Bank al Etihad’s business in Iraq, has joined Jordan Ahli Bank as Chief Wholesale Banking Officer.

Abu Khader was most recently Country CEO for Iraq at Bank al Etihad. Earlier he was Head of SMEs at Arab Bank, CEO and Head of Corporate Banking for Jordan at First Abu Dhabi Bank, and Head of Middle Corporates at HSBC, after starting in corporate relationship management at Union Bank. The bank credits him with more than two and a half decades in banking across corporate, institutional and SME clients, including business development and digital transformation.

“We are pleased to welcome Suleiman to the management team,” said Ahmad Abu Eideh, CEO and General Manager of Jordan Ahli Bank.

Digital Trade Outlook’s View: Jordan Ahli Hires for the Middle Market and Iraq

Abu Khader’s career has been built on SME and mid corporate clients and, most recently, on running a bank’s business in Iraq. That profile suggests Jordan Ahli wants to grow wholesale banking in the middle market and in cross border corporate business with Iraq. Success will depend on whether the bank backs him with the trade and cash management products those clients use every day.
