FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited (FCEPL) has partnered with Citi Pakistan to give its suppliers access to the Citi® Supplier Finance digital platform.
The program lets suppliers receive early payment against approved invoices while FCEPL keeps its own payment terms unchanged — a working-capital arrangement designed not to disrupt the company’s cash flow during the rollout.
“One of the most common issues we see within the supplier landscape is financial disbalance, which leads to competent candidates often missing out on opportunities to secure transactions and contracts,” said Kashan Hasan, Managing Director of FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited. “This partnership will clear the way for many small and up-and-coming suppliers by offering them the same capital as the rest of the market, giving them the chance to realize their true potential. Living our purpose of Nourishing Pakistan cannot be possible without our stakeholders, and creating equal opportunities for them. This is yet another step we have taken to ensure that everyone across our value chain is well equipped to be part of our journey and purpose.”
Eligible FCEPL suppliers can now borrow against approved invoices at competitive rates, giving them more liquidity and financial flexibility.
“This partnership with FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan is a great example of how we bring Citi’s global capabilities to solve real business needs locally,” said Habib Yousuf, Citi Country Officer & Banking Head, Citi Pakistan. “By extending financing to suppliers, we are helping businesses access working capital on better terms and giving them more room to operate and grow. For us, it’s about using Citi’s network and expertise to support the businesses at the heart of our clients’ supply chains.”
For FCEPL, the deal also sets up further work on its own treasury and working-capital management as the program develops.
